Vossloh and Rhomberg Sersa create joint venture to strengthen their infrastructure competence

Berlin, 18 September 2018. With a joint venture, Vossloh and Rhomberg Sersa are strengthening their integral approach to an optimized lifecycle management of the rail track. The related contract was signed today on the leading international trade fair for transport technology InnoTrans in Berlin.

The joint venture, operating as Rhomberg Sersa Vossloh GmbH, is specializing in switch and track maintenance (switch service and diagnosis) and offers a wide range of services for a value preserving infrastructure management. Apart from the economically efficient provision of an operationally safe rail track, the focus is on the long-term asset preservation at an excellent cost-benefit ratio. Rhomberg Sersa Vossloh GmbH has its registered office in Longuich near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The MR.pro® software developed by Rhomberg Sersa and well accepted in the marketplace provides the new company with a professional inspection and monitoring tool to record, assess and evaluate the condition of the infrastructure and derive appropriate maintenance measures. Moreover, the BahnWege® seminars have become established as the leading seminars in the field of superstructure engineering. “We are pleased to pool our services and competences with our partner Vossloh to offer perfect solutions to our customers,” says Thomas Bachhofner, CEO Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group.

Both partners expect the joint venture to deliver comprehensive synergies with their own services businesses and integral solutions for the lifecycle management. The joint venture is intended to make valuable contributions to ensuring maximum availability and safety of switch and track systems at an optimized budget. “Our cooperation complements the product and service portfolio of either partner in an ideal way,” says Marcel Taubert, Managing Director of Vossloh Rail Services.

The transaction will still have to be approved by the antitrust authorities.
