Successful rail and switch maintenance begins with collecting and documenting the current status data. This data is then prepared and analyzed using an intelligent data processing method comprising the following steps:
- Validation: Ensures that the data is correct
- Sorting: Data sets are matched up, e.g. measurement data with route information
- Summarization: Detailed data is summarized
- Aggregation: Different data sets are combined
- Analysis: Collection, analysis and interpretation of data
- Classification: Data is classified into different categories, e.g. defect categories as per customer specifications
- Reporting, E.g. inspection reports
